Because teens are constantly growing, whether it is their jaw structure or getting their permanent teeth, Invisalign Teen accommodates those changes through their distinguishing features.
With eruption tabs, small cutouts that allow room for newly erupting teeth and molars, Invisalign Teen allows for change without having to get another set of aligners altogether.
2. Treatment plan designed for Teens
The second difference between them is that Invisalign Teen knows teens will be teens. They will accidentally lose or misplace their aligners or damage them. This is why the Teen treatment plans include a limited number of replacement aligners included in the plan to adjust to the active lifestyle of teens.
3. Compliance Indicators
Because teens can be less compliant with the directions they are given about their Invisalign, the aligners designed for teens have small blue dots at the back of the aligner that fade after wearing the aligners.
This helps monitor whether the aligners are worn as recommended. Ultimately, highlighting the importance of wearing the aligners.
Adult Invisalign does not have this feature, as they are expected to follow the recommendations as provided.
